YG Entertainment is on a roll. They kicked off the year with Akdong Musician’s “Winter”, and recently, released back-to-back albums for WINNER, SECHSKIES, and Psy. After announcing that BLACKPINK will be making a comeback in June, the label confirmed iKON’s comeback with a teaser image.
A mysterious teaser photo was originally released on 1st May, although YG Entertainment did not drop a follow-up teaser until yesterday (Tuesday, 16th May). And today (Wednesday, 17th May), the company finally made public a teaser video for fans.

The video is titled “New Kids: Begin” and is the beginning of the many “New Kids” albums slated to be released throughout the year. It follows the format of BIGBANG’s “MADE” series, WINNER’s “EXIT” series, and BLACKPINK’s “SQUARE” series.
“iKON’s concept for this year is ‘New Kids’. It signifies a new start and a new style for iKON,” explained a source from YG Entertainment.
The group’s album will drop on 22nd May at 6pm KST (5pm Malaysian time).

This marks the boy’s first comeback in a year, after their digital single “#WYD (오늘 모해)” in May 2016. Last month, CEO Yang Hyun Suk also dropped a surprise video teaser for iKON’s new track, sending fans into a frenzy.
