V.I.Ps, we got some bad news for y’all.
Apparently, fans of K-pop group BIGBANG (빅뱅) might have to wait a little longer for the their long-awaited comeback at Coachella 2020. The 4 members of the group – G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang and Daesung – were scheduled to perform for 2 days on 10th and 17th April.
As reported by Billboard, the large-scaled music festival may be facing postponement due to the increasing Covid-19 outbreak cases. Earlier on Monday (9th March) 3 more cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Riverside County where the festival takes place every year.
Knowing that a number of fans as well as sponsors are considering pulling out from the show, Coachella is reportedly thinking of putting the show to a temporary halt. In this case, the event may be delayed until fall season.
Word has it that officials of the large-scaled music festival are currently in talks to postpone the event to the weekends on 9th and 16th October. However, if the final verdict is still not released after 48 hours, the whole event may be ultimately called off.
As at time of writing, BIGBANG’s label YG Entertainment has yet to confirm the reports.
Update (11th March):
Soompi reports that G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P, and Daesung have all renewed their contracts with YG Entertainment. This is BIGBANG’s third renewal with the music label.
