Content creator Bai En (白蒽), formerly Bryan Wee, is known for making a lot of controversial and questionable videos to this day. It seems that the YouTuber won’t be stopping making these kinds of contentious content anytime soon as she recently invited someone infamous to join her for a livestream.
Over the weekend, netizens were shocked after Bai En announced that she’ll be doing a Facebook livestream with notorious alleged scammer Adeline Chang, who had gone viral for making false accusations against several establishments as well as attempting to cheat her way to paying RM1.20 for a RM20 ride. The broadcast took place at Yao Wang Herbal Shop where the two controversial figures discussed mostly finding a boyfriend for Adeline.
After the livestream ended, Bai En posted several videos of her with the viral woman on Instagram and Xiaohongshu. The video that got the most attention was the one where the influencer gave Adeline a total of RM650 as payment for appearing as a guest on the live show. “Next time, don’t forget to pay for your Grab ride,” the content creator jokingly said to Adeline, referring to her recent viral Grab case.
The other video showed the two taking a Grab ride together to “prove” that the 24-year-old does pay her e-hailing drivers. “I’ll sue everyone who said I have never paid for my e-hailing rides. I’ll hire lawyers and sue you for defamation,” said the infamous woman in the red flower-patterned dress. As expected, the videos and livestream attracted a lot of negative attention from netizens with many criticising Bai En for giving the reported scammer a platform despite her deeds.
Some expressed their disappointment that the YouTuber would even consider collaborating with Adeline while others suggested that the serial scammer should be locked up instead of appearing on a live broadcast to sell products. Of course, there were those who suspected that this was all cheap publicity to attract more views.
At the time of writing, neither Bai En nor Adeline responded to the negative comments online but from the collab, we can assume that this won’t be the last time we’ll hear from the latter. Watch the viral videos below:
