After a month of speculation, CUBE Entertainment has finally confirmed the rumours, rendering fellow B2UTIES in tears. BEAST (비스트) aka B2ST member Jang Hyunseung (장현승) is leaving the K-Pop idol boy group after 7 years.
At the age of 15, Hyunseung took part in auditions for YG Entertainment. He first gained media attention when he appeared in BIGBANG’s pre-debut documentary along with members G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung, and Seungri. He appeared in 10 out of 11 episodes, but was cut from the group in a final elimination round. He later met future fellow B2ST member Yang Yoseob while they were working as dancers for a show performance team. Yoseob convinced Hyunseung to join CUBE Entertainment, leading to him debuting with B2ST.

Hyunseung is the vocalist and dancer for B2ST. He’s also one half of the duo Trouble Maker with CUBE Entertainment labelmate HyunA (of 4Minute).
In case you missed it, he was recently thrown into the limelight for his apparent lack of manners and bad behaviour. His “poor attitude” towards the band actually started 4 years ago but it really spiralled in 2015 when he was seen ignoring lyrics, dancing without passion, and singing in the wrong tone during performances.
In September 2015, Hyunseung missed a fan meeting, which CUBE Entertainment said was due to “personal reasons”. However, footage of Hyunseung with a woman at a cafe in Seoul’s Cheongdamdong area allegedly at the time of the fan meeting somehow found its way online.

This upset fans who had purchased tickets for the 2-hour long fan meeting worth $730 to meet all 6 B2ST members.
Both Hyunseung as well as CUBE Entertainment later posted up their apologies, promising to reflect and to do better in order to prevent such incidents from happening again. But perhaps it was too little too late for the 26-year-old idol.
Last month, Hyunseung missed yet another B2ST activity – a fanmeeting in Taipei. It sparked a rumour about Hyunseung leaving the group, which turned out to be true. CUBE Entertainment just released a statement with regards to the news, saying:
“Hello. This is Cube Entertainment.
We want to thank fans who love BEAST, and at the same time, deliver a news to all.
As of today, Jang Hyunseung leaves the team and Yoon Doojoon, Lee Kikwang, Yang Yoseob, Yong JunHyung, Son Dongwoon will be restructured as a 5-member group. In the future, Jang Hyunseung will concentrate on his personal music not as a BEAST member, but as a solo artiste.
Jang Hyunseung and the 5 members have differing opinions in terms of music, which had resulted in changes in the team after much consultation and discussion. After given long thoughts over the issue, we have come to an agreement to Jang Hyunseung’s leave and reforming the group.
Throughout these years, BEAST have worked their best to reach the common goals of both fans and BEAST’s. Because of this, this is not an easy decision made by the members and the company.
5-member BEAST is determined on releasing a new album in 2016 and to have domestic and international schedules soon. In the future, we hope that you would give your best cheers to BEAST and to Jang Hyunseung.”
Hyunseung made his debut as a solo artiste last year with his first mini album, “MY“. Thus, we don’t doubt that he will be able to carry on well on his own.

But how is this piece of news affecting you guys though? Will you continue to show your support for Hyunseung in his career as a solo artiste? Let us know your thoughts in the comments box below.
