We all love being treated to free food, and for some lucky fans in Singapore, that dream came true in the most unexpected way. Members of K-pop boy band NCT Dream (엔시티 드림) surprised diners at Haidilao by paying for everyone’s meal, turning an ordinary night out into an unforgettable memory.
The heartwarming gesture reminded us of the time when singer IU (아이유) treated Korean fans to Malaysian snacks at Incheon Airport. Now, NCT Dream have joined the list of idols spreading love (and free food) beyond the stage.

Following their two sold-out concerts at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on 18th and 19th October as part of their “Dream Show 4: Dream The Future” world tour, members Haechan (해찬), Jaemin (재민), and Renjun (런쥔) were spotted dining at the popular Haidilao outlet in The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. What started as a quiet post-concert dinner soon became a heartwarming display of gratitude.
According to Mothership, the trio realised that many of the restaurant’s diners were NCTzens and decided to pick up the tab for everyone. Without hesitation, they paid for the entire restaurant’s meals, leaving customers astonished and overjoyed by the group’s generosity.
Viral videos circulating online captured Haechan and Jaemin leaving the restaurant, waving at fans and holding hilariously long receipts. One clip even showed a Haidilao staff member announcing that the idols had paid everyone’s bills, prompting screams of disbelief and applause from the crowd.
Haidilao Marina Bay Sands later confirmed the wholesome moment in an Instagram post, writing, “When the idols realised that all the customers were their fans, they generously paid for everyone’s meals. We were honoured to host them.” The restaurant also expressed its gratitude for the visit, calling it a night to remember.

Many international fans couldn’t help but feel a twinge of envy after seeing the viral clips. One fan jokingly said they thought the long receipt was a roll of toilet paper, while others regretted not dining at Haidilao that night. Social media quickly filled with amused reactions and light-hearted jealousy over the group’s generous gesture.
Malaysian NCTzens might not have to wait long for a chance encounter of their own. The group is set to perform at Axiata Arena on 13th and 14th December (Saturday and Sunday). So who knows, maybe Malaysian fans could be the next lucky ones treated to a surprise meal from the beloved idols.
