Following husband Aliff Aziz’s recent controversy, actress Bella Astillah has officially filed for divorce after nearly eight years of marriage. The star was spotted at the Federal Territories Syariah Courts (MSWP) at Jalan Duta earlier this afternoon (13th March).
According to her lawyer, Azmi Mohd Rais, Bella had filed for divorce on Monday (11th March). The actress, whose real name is Dayang Nabellah Awang Astillah, appeared at the court with her mother, Zarinah Astillah, and sister, Didi Astillah. However, her husband, Aliff Aziz, did not appear at the first hearing due to scheduling conflicts.
When met with reporters outside the courthouse, Bella said she’s adamant about divorcing Aliff, adding that she has given him enough chances in the past. She said, “I think this is the best move for me. As many know, we had referred after our first divorce. I’ve thought about it and believe that going our own ways is the best for me and Aliff.” The couple tied the knot in 2016 but divorced in 2019 before getting back in 2020. Bella hopes for a smooth proceeding, adding that Aliff had agreed to the divorce.
News reporters also asked Bella about her children and their reaction to the divorce. The celebrity couple have two children together, 7-year-old Ayden and 4-year-old Ara. The 30-year-old said that her children are not too affected by the news or the recent scandal surrounding their father. However, Bella said she would not restrict Aliff from meeting the children after the divorce.
After sharing about her divorce, Bella received lots of supportive messages from fellow celebrities and fans. Meanwhile, Aliff has yet to comment on the divorce – but we hope the process goes smoothly for him and Bella.
