Establishing your own company comes with many risks, including hiring incompetent employees. Recently, Malaysian content creator Isa Isarb revealed that one of his staff members has been misappropriating company funds.
Earlier this month, Isa released a notice on his social media pages, stating that his employee, known as Aiman Pt. 2, has been suspended from duty at ISARB Media, pending a Domestic Inquiry. According to the notice, the suspension was for breaching work ethics and responsibilities, including mishandling of company funds amounting to RM220,000.
In a follow-up video, the content creator revealed what happened behind the scenes that led to the suspension. Isa explained that Aiman has been stealing from the company for some time. However, he and his team only had a suspicion after a recent issue where Aiman failed to show up for a video filming in Sarawak.
After an internal investigation, Isa revealed that Aiman was holding onto RM232,000 of the company’s funds and was misappropriating a large sum of the money. The ISARB Media entrusted the money to him to pay for bills related to the company’s filmings. However, Aiman’s wife revealed that he would often transfer the money to his bank account for his personal use.
In the video, the content creator said that, out of the RM232,000, Aiman had funnelled over RM51,000 for his personal use. While Aiman did use the remaining sum for the company, Isa mentioned that he often lied about completing payments by forging receipts. As a result, Isa said that Aiman has been fired from ISARB Media, effective immediately.
Isa expressed regret over the issue, adding that he had previously faced a similar situation. He also said he has already settled all pending payments with the vendors affected by Aiman’s incompetence. Moving forward, Isa plans to take legal action against Aiman for misappropriation of company funds.
As of now, Isa mentioned that Aiman had cut off contact with him, his team and his family. Whatever happens, we hope that the content creator and his team can settle the issue with Aiman amicably. Watch Isa’s full explanation below:
