While constructive criticism is good for self-improvement, it can be very draining and soul-crushing to read everything negative about yourself on a daily basis.
It’s completely understandable why many celebrities refuse to read comments on their social media, even if most of them are positive ones from fans. One bad comment is enough to ruin your day. Actress Nabila Huda is one of the many Malaysian celebs who refuses to read all the nasty comments left by netizens. Here’s why:
In a recent interview with Gempak, Nabila Huda expressed that she chose to not pay attention to any negative comments written about her on her social media. The actress said she’s holding on to the belief that people should live their lives however they want and that outsiders have no right to judge someone without knowing their story.
“As humans, we should be able to discern which stories are true and which ones are false. I believe that we don’t necessarily need to read into anything that could bring slander to someone and tarnish their image,” said the 37-year-old. The mother-of-one elaborated that those who do not know her personally or her story should not have the right to make any form of judgment or come up with ridiculous rumours.
The “Harun Malam” star also claimed that netizens have the tendency to only care about the struggles and negative sides of someone that they forget all the good things the person has done in their life. “I firmly believe that everyone deserves to live their lives happily. Anyone who wants to talk bad about you, I say just ‘F**k them’,” the actress told Gempak.
Nabila Huda encourages everyone to not always focus on the negatives as that would bring more harm than good. She ended the interview by giving some words of advise saying, “Life is short, so enjoy it!”. Let’s all keep this in mind and try to always be kind to one another.
