Recently, YG Entertainment revealed that renowned girl group BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) will be making a comeback in 2025, followed by a new world tour. The news undoubtedly has many BLINKs (BLACKPINK fandom) excited – but even better for local fans, it seems Malaysia could be one of the tour stops again.

Recently, a local BLACKPINK fanclub alleged that the group, consisting of members Jennie (제니), Jisoo (지수), Lisa (리사) and Rosé (로제), are in negotiations with the local government and the Bukit Jalil National Stadium for an upcoming concert in 2025. According to the post, the concert will be part of the group’s 2025 world tour, which YG Entertainment’s Chief Producer Yang Hyunsuk previously confirmed was in the works. Unfortunately, the post never provided any other details or the source of the report.

However, another local fanclub doubled down on the claims, adding that the dates are even confirmed. The post also alleges that the group will perform in Malaysia for more than one show. The same account has previously hinted at similar news back in February, which gives the impression that the tour has been in the works since earlier this year. For your information, the quartet has performed in Malaysia for their “In Your Area” and “Born Pink” world tours in 2019 and 2022, respectively.

While nothing is confirmed and there are no definite sources to the news, fans are already excited about BLACKPINK potentially returning to Malaysia. Many local BLINKs say they’re already looking forward to the concerts and are starting to save up to get the best seats. The rumours also sparked discussion about their labelmate 2NE1’s rumoured KL concert, with many hoping that the girl group will also perform at the same venue.

In related news, BLACKPINK recently celebrated their 8th anniversary, delighting fans with a full-group appearance via a live stream. In addition, the group will also celebrate their anniversary with an exclusive fan-signing event with 88 lucky fans. They also recently released a concert movie for their highly successful “Born Pink” world tour.

While there’s no way to confirm the tour rumours, we’re confident Malaysian fans can guarantee sold-out shows for BLACKPINK if they return to the Bukit Jalil National Stadium. What are your thoughts on this?
