BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) member Lisa (리사/ลิซ่า) continues to achieve new milestones for herself. After making moves for her acting career, the “ROCKSTAR” singer is now the face of a tourism campaign for her home country of Thailand.
On 15th October 2025 (Wednesday), the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced that Lisa has been appointed the new “Amazing Thailand Ambassador”. With her new role, the Buriram native, whose full name is Lalisa Manoban (ลลิษา มโนบาล), will “embody and showcase the image and charm of Thailand as a leading quality travel destination.” It’s believed that Lisa was chosen for the role because of her influence in the global entertainment industry.
In its statement, the TAT said, “Lisa is one of Thailand’s greatest sources of pride. With her globally recognised achievements and success, she serves as an influential force in telling the story of Thailand’s beauty and unique identity, making it known to a wider international audience.” TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool also spoke about the partnership, saying, “Collaborating with Lisa as the Amazing Thailand Ambassador marks another significant milestone in presenting the charm, diversity, and wonders of Thailand from a fresh perspective.”
Many fans have since congratulated Lisa on her new ambassadorship. They also praised the choice, saying it was a good decision to appoint Lisa for the role, given her pride in her Thai background. Interestingly, Lisa isn’t the only BLACKPINK member to be appointed tourism ambassador. Earlier this year, Jennie was appointed the 2025 Honorary Ambassador for Seoul Tourism, subsequently fronting the global campaign, “Absolutely in Seoul”.
