The pictures resembled a wedding invitation and included the names of the celebrities and the date, 17th August 2025 (Sunday). The captions for the post read, “Wedding D-10. We first met 10 years ago, and now we’re ready to walk the days ahead together. Please cheer us on as we take our first steps as a couple.”


The post drew significant attention and quickly went viral. At first glance, the invitation seemed legitimate, prompting netizens to wonder if the two stars were indeed getting married. However, upon closer inspection, it appears that the post was merely a promotional gimmick for Kim Seulgi and Doojoon’s upcoming tvN short drama, “The Catstody War (냥육권전쟁)”. The drama premieres on 17th August 2025, which is the date mentioned in the “wedding invitation”.
The upcoming drama follows the story of a couple who are divorcing after years of marriage and end up engaging in a fierce custody battle for their pet cat. It also marks Kim Seulgi and Doojoon’s long-awaited on-screen reunion since their 2015 drama, “Splash Splash Love (퐁당퐁당 LOVE)”. Many netizens have since reacted to the shocking marketing strategy for “The Catstody War”, with most praising the creativity.

Many said they were fooled by the “wedding invite”, noting that the usage of the main cast’s real names made the invitation seem realistic. Some even mentioned that they initially thought the photo was a fan edit, given the surprising nature of the announcement.
