Ramadan is a time for reflection, togetherness, and meaningful traditions. However, for those travelling during the fasting month, it also comes with its own set of challenges – enduring long journeys in the heat, conserving energy while fasting, and even finding an accessible place to break your fast. Whether you’re heading home to be with family or setting off on a trip, finding a convenient iftar spot can create additional stress on your travels.

To help ease the process, we’ve put together a list of nearby eateries where you can enjoy a delicious iftar before catching your bus. These spots, located at or near major bus terminals, ensure you can savour your meal without worrying about missing your ride.

Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS)

As one of Malaysia’s largest bus terminals, TBS (Terminal Bersepadu Selatan) offers plenty of dining options for travellers looking to break their fast before continuing their journey. Beyond the food court, you will find a variety of restaurants and cafés, from hearty Nasi Kukus to popular fast-food chains offering rotisserie-roasted chicken or yoo tiao, along with a boba shop to refresh and satisfy your thirst after fasting.

  • Simple D Café – Fresh pastries and satisfying pasta dishes to enjoy
  • Sup Meletup Asli – Delight in flavourful Malay dishes

Penang Sentral

When in Penang, a plate of Nasi Kandar is almost a must! Conveniently located inside Penang Sentral, Iqbal’s Restaurant serves this local favourite—perfect for breaking your fast. If you’re craving something different, you can enjoy crispy fried chicken with a Korean twist at the Korean restaurant or indulge in flavourful Indian delicacies at Urban Panipuri, all conveniently located within the terminal.

Located near JB City Square, JB Sentral is an ideal stop for travellers looking for a variety of dining options before their journey. The mall itself is home to numerous restaurants, so whether you’re in the mood for local delights, international cuisine, or a quick bite, you’ll find a variety of options here to break your fast.
