When we make a mistake, the best thing to do is to own up and apologise for our wrongdoings. Apologising is an act of humility that shows that the person has manners – even if they are loan sharks.

Posted in the Facebook group, ‘BATU PAHAT’, a loan shark by the username ‘DK DK’ made a public apology to the family he and his group wronged. Apparently, the loan sharks made a mistake when trying to threaten a debtor that lived in Batu Pahat and splashed red paint onto the wrong house. In the post, the loan shark shared that they vandalised the house twice before realising they got the wrong address.

Previously, the family posted on Facebook about having their house splashed with paint, saying that the loan sharks had gotten the wrong address. Unfortunately, the post went unnoticed by the group until recently. Through this Facebook post, the loan shark clarified that the family living in the house does not owe them any money and that they will make amendments with the family to restore the place.

Of course, such a public apology garnered the attention of the public, who praised the loan shark’s manners and civility. Some joked that the loan sharks were more reasonable than the ones who borrowed money from them without paying back. Others found it humourous that even loan sharks apologise after making a mistake.

If an Ah Long can apologise for their wrongdoing, then we have no excuse not to own up to our mistakes.
