After 2NE1’s disbandment, Sandara Park had tried her hand in acting, starring in variety shows, and hosting. And now, she’s going back to her roots.
The 32-year-old singer-cum-actress has released a solo track titled “One Step”. The song is the OST for the movie of the same name.
Aside from singing the OST, the former 2NE1 member is also starring in the movie as the main lead. In her big screen debut, she plays the role of Sihyun who is diagnosed with amnesia after getting into a car accident. She has no memories of the accident or her past and is forced to see to see sounds in colour.
The music video also shows off the sweet side of the singer, showing her playing the guitar while serenading us with her soothing voice. Clips from the movie were also included in the video, giving us a glimpse of the romance between the 2 leads.
While talking about the possibility of a solo album, Dara also touched on the topic of the OST. She said, “I’ve been a singer for a long time, but I don’t have any solo songs that I can call my own. The genre for the ‘One Step’ OST song I sang perfectly suits my image and voice.”
The YG Entertainment artiste also revealed her past difficulties, stating, “When you look at 2NE1’s sad songs I don’t have many parts. It’s because my tone is high and sounds happy even though it’s a sad song. I have tried lowering my tone, but I think a certain charm can be found in my tone. I have changed my mind to try to bring out the positive aspects (of it).”
Dont worry, Dara. We really, really like your voice in the OST!
