It’s game season season and you know what that means – new movie TV spots.
From Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s “Baywatch” reboot to Hugh Jackman’s last Wolverinve movie, “Logan”, it’s safe to say that 2017 is a very exciting for movie buffs. In anticipation of some of the most anticipated films this year, we’ve compiled a list of must-watch trailers released during this year’s Super Bowl:
1. The Fate of the Furious
“Dominic Toretto just went rogue.”
Vin Diesel returns as Dom in the upcoming “The Fate of the Furious” aka “Fast 8” and this time, he is the villain. Although the new 1-minute-long trailer has yet to explain why Dom chose to work with Cipher (played by Charlize Theron), it places more focus on Deckard Shaw’s (played by Jason Stathem) role. And like any other “Fast and Furious” trailers, the promo clip includes a lot of fast cars and crashes.
Directed by F. Gary Gray, “The Fate of the Furious” opens in theatres on 14th April 2017.
2. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Featuring Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 hit, “The Chain”, the new trailer for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” introduces new characters to fans. Some of the new faces include “The Great Gatsby” star Elizabeth Debicki’s Ayesha, Michael Rooker’s Yondu, Karen Gillan’s Nebula, and French-Canadian actress Pom Klementieff’s Mantis. The clip also gives Marvel fans a peek at Ayesha’s Sovereign race and city.
Helmed by James Gunn, “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2” is slated for release on 5th May 2017.
3. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
“Ain’t no grave can hold my body down.” – Johnny Cash
Dead men have taken the sea. The latest trailer for Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” aka “Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge” features Salazar’s (played by Javier Bardem) undead army and a very muddy Captain Jack Sparrow (played by Johnny Depp). The film marks the return of immortal captain Will Turner (played by Orlando Bloom) and Hector Barbossa (played by Geoffrey Rush).
Directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” hits cinemas on 26th May 2017.
While the new TV spot for “Logan” has no dialogues, it is set to the eerie tune of “Amazing Grace”. It doesn’t tell much, but it does show Wolverine aka Logan (played by Hugh Jackman) and X-23 aka Laura Kinney’s (played by Dafne Keen) fierce chemistry and fighting skills.
Directed by James Mangold, is slated for released on 3rd March 2017.
5. A Cure For Wellness
Starring “Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets” star Dane DeHaan, “A Cure For Wellness” is a psychological horror film that revolves around an idyllic wellness centre located somewhere in the Swiss Alps. The Super Bowl commercial shows young executive Mr. Lockhart (played by Dane DeHaan) going insane, trying to find out the facility’s secret.
Helmed by Gore Verbinski, “A Cure For Wellness” opens in cinemas on 17th February 2017.
The new “Baywatch” TV spot is all about slo-mo runs and Zac Efron’s Matt Brody wearing a skimpy triangle swimwear with stars and stripes. The trailer contains some never-before-seen footage and like director Seth Gordon’s other comedies, it seems like the movie is going to focus its R-rated jokes and charm.
“Baywatch” hits cinemas on 26th May 2017.
