It’s explosive, humorous, and there’s plenty of action! We’re talking about the new trailer for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”.
We got our first brief look at the teaser back in October with slow-mo shots of Star-Lord and the rest of his team – that include Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon, and even Baby Groot, who’s almost too cute to handle. But now we’re seeing bigger focus of the group in action and also our first peek at Mantis.

Just like how the movie soundtrack was an integral part of the 1st film, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is also built around a track taken from Peter Quill’s mix tapes, more specifically Sweet’s 1974 track “Fox on the Run”.
There isn’t much plot shown in this footage, but viewers are treated to colourful imagery, amusing banter, and several big action shots. There’s of course, lots and lots of sweet, innocent Baby Groot who can apparently become quite dangerous when provoked.

There is some comical interaction between Rocket Raccoon and Baby Groot where Rocket is explaining to Groot to not push the button that will set off a bomb that could blow up a major part of the galactic universe. Just when Rocket gets distracted looking for some tape, Groot sneaks off with the bomb.
Remember when Empire released a concept art showing the heroes going up against a horrible-looking giant space tentacle monster named Abilisk back in August? Well, we finally get to see a snippet of the awesome space battle in this trailer.

As director James Gunn previously said in an interview, Marvel Studios is intentionally keeping the plot under wraps for now. “With ‘Guardians’, [fans] really go through every single little shot and try to figure out what the movie’s about. And there’s a lot of mysteries in ‘Guardians 2’. We were talking about how much to give away — and we’re not going to give away very much,” he said.
But that’s okay, because the introduction of Pom Klementieff as Mantis is probably the coolest part of the trailer. We see the latest Guardians recruit spilling some of Star-Lord’s deep, dark secrets – much to Drax’s amusement.
We won’t spoil it for you 😉 Just watch it for yourself:

UPDATE (1st March, 2:10pm):
The latest trailer for “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2” premiered on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last night (Tuesday, 28th February).
Chris Pratt, who posed as an audience member on the talk show, wittily said, “I play a character called Peter Quill. He’s also known as Star-Lord. There’s a hot green alien. We save the universe. There’s a raccoon who has a machine gun, talks a lot of smack. There’s a sentient tree who only knows how to say his own name…”
One of the highlights of the trailer is when Star-Lord finally meets his father, Ego (played by Kurt Russell). Other than that, the promo clip shows plenty of alien action and Baby Groot moments.
