Jisoo, a member of K-pop supergroup Blackpink, is all set to contribute a song for The Angry Birds Movie 3.
The K-pop star has co-written an original song, “Sun Showers,” for the upcoming animated film. The song is expected to be used in the film and its soon-to-be-released trailer. The album artwork for the song also features the character “Shumon,” a little dustball creature that Jisoo first drew in middle school before she debuted as a K-pop idol.
The singer says seeing the creation come to life was “deeply meaningful” to her.
“I’m so happy to be part of The Angry Birds Movie 3,” the singer said in an exclusive statement to THR. “I’ve always loved how the films bring together such colorful characters, humor and heart. With ‘Sun Showers,’ I wanted to capture the movie’s playful and bright energy through a fun, feel-good song that makes people want to smile and dance along.”
She noted, “I really hope everyone will enjoy hearing it when they see the film over the holidays.”
Hailing from Paramount Pictures, the holiday animated film is expected to be released on Dec. 23. The synopsis reads, “This holiday season, one angry bird will face his greatest challenge yet, surviving fatherhood… while saving the world!”
Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Emma Myers, Rachel Bloom, Walker Scobell, Danny McBride, Marcello Hernández, Tim Robinson, Anna Cathcart, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Nikki Glaser, MrBeast, Salish Matter, Psalm West, Sam Richardson and James Austin Johnson are set to star, with Lily James and Keke Palmer also joining the cast.
