We’re almost at the end of Jessica Blue’s saga…
Following the events from her previous music videos, “Snow White” and “Anybody’s You”, where Grimmie’s character decided to stalk her boyfriend after becoming suspicious of him. Turns out, he was dating her glamorous alter ego. For her 3rd track in the “Side A” EP series, the singers opens “Deception” with the lyrics, “You didn’t ever care for me…”
At this point, Jessica is beyond upset. The young songstress storms into the studio looking all flustered and worried about her upcoming gig – which could potentially make or break her career. Distracted by self-doubt, insecurities, and boyfriend issues, she turns to her beloved grandmother for advise.
“See that girl? She is beautiful, no matter what,” her granny assures her, as the instrumental piano melody can be heard in the background. “There are some things you can never lose once you find them. Your voice is one of them.” And on that note, she sits down on a grand piano and begin to pour her heart out.
Here’s the mv for “Deception”:
While “Snow White” was a catchy uptempo pop tune and “Anybody’s You” brought about a slick R&B feel, “Deception” is a straight up emotional ballad. Like her fans, we’re feeling sad that “The Ballad of Jessica Blue” is coming to an end soon. This is it guys, only 1 music video left.
“Without Him”, the final visual from her posthumous music videos, will be released next week (1st September).
