The Joker fans, if you were planning on watching “Suicide Squad” just to get glimpses of your beloved character, we would suggest that you read this article first.
Jared Leto has revealed that many scenes involving The Joker were cut out from the movie, as director of the movie, David Ayer, and editor John Gilroy thought the scenes were not pivotal for the story line.
When questioned by French website Telestar, Leto said:
“There are a lot of scenes that didn’t make it to the final film. And hopefully they’ll see the light of day…who knows?”
Ayer also confirmed the fact in an interview with Collider, however, the helmer of the film declined to name any scenes. When asked whether the sequence involved The Joker and Harley Quinn, he only said “maybe”.
He elaborated:
“We have a chunk (of deleted scenes) there’s definitely over 10 minutes of material on there. But this cut of the movie is my cut, there’s no sort of parallel universe version of the movie, the released movie is my cut. And that’s one of the toughest things about writing, shooting, and directing a film, is you end up with these orphans and you f**king love them and you think they’d be amazing scenes and do these amazing things but the film is a dictatorship (laughs), not a democracy, and just because something’s cool and charismatic doesn’t mean it gets to survive in the final cut. The flow of the movie is the highest master.”

There also won’t be an extended cut of the movie like “Batman v Superman: Ultimate Edition”, but ‘fret not. The deleted scenes will be included in the Blu-ray, so prepare to feast your eyes on The Joker then 😉
