Hot alert!
CUBE Entertainment’s K-Pop idol girl group 4Minute may have disbanded, but lead rapper and dancer HyunA (김현아) is reportedly working hard for her solo comeback soon.
Having renewed her contract with CUBE Entertainment as a solo artist, the 24-year-old idol, who is best known for her sexy concept and sick choreography, is currently in the midst of preparing for her album. According to DongA, she’s in the process of choosing a title song for her new album, and her goal is to make a comeback before summer ends.
She last greeted fans with a solo album in August 2015 when she released “A+”, which was rated “19+” or “R”. “A+” came complete with a risque album trailer and some interesting collaborations with “Unpretty Rapstar” rapper Yook Ji Dam (for “Ice Ice”), 10cm’s Kwon Jung Yeol (for “Get Out of My House”), and BTOB’s Ilhoon (for her title track, “Because I’m the Best”).
HyunA first rose to fame in the Korean girl group Wonder Girls, before she left in 2007. In 2008, she signed with Cube Entertainment and subsequently debuted with 4Minute a year later, and their debut single “Hot Issue” went on to sell 4 million copies.

She became notable for her solo career, with her debut single, “Change”, reaching sales of over 2 million copies. To date, she has released 4 EPs: “Bubble Pop!” (2011), “Melting” (2012), “A Talk” (2014), and “A+” (2015). On top of that, HyunA was also one-half of sub-unit Trouble Maker with ex BEAST (비스트) aka B2ST member Hyunseung.
Never one to be afraid of shaking things up with revealing outfits and suggestive music videos, she was named “K-Pop’s sexiest export” by Vogue last month.
HyunA is expected to make her solo comeback by August. It’s always exciting to see her concept so we can’t wait! :)
