2016 is definitely not a good year for many K-Pop fans, especially 4NIAs 🙁
On 13th June, Cube Entertainment confirmed that female idol group 4Minute has officially disbanded due to conflict of interests. However, member HyunA (현아) has renewed her contract with Cube while the other 4 members including Ga Yoon, Ji Yoon, Ji Hyun, and So Hyun have left the company.

The 5-member girl group debuted in June 2009 with “Hot Issue” and they were one of the leading K-Pop girl groups in the early 2010s alongside 2NE1, T-ARA, and SNSD Girls’ Generation. Their most recent album, “Act. 7”, was released in January 2016 which held their hit title track, “Hate” (싫어).
Some of the members broke their silence on social media over the weekend to share their thoughts about the disbandment and apologised for the sudden decision.
“It’s already been 7 years that I was a part of 4minute. I was happy thanks to all of you. I’m sorry we weren’t able to end it on a beautiful note. I’ll repay you because I cannot forget. Please stay by our side for a long time like the blue sky. I love you. Thank you very much. I miss you 4NIAs,” wrote Ji Yoon.

Meanwhile, maknae So Hyun posted, “Every year, I gave thanks on this date. This year today, I want to give my apology. I am so thankful and sorry to 4NIA, who have always stayed by our side, loved us, and cheered us on for 7 years. Thank you, 4NIA. <3″.
Ex-leader Ji Hyun took to Instagram to reminisce 4Minute’s 7th Anniversary, which falls on 16th June. She shared a selfie of herself and in the caption, she wrote, “7 years ago today… I was so nervous and I was so very young then~~Haha time flies. Good day!”
