UPDATE (20th June, 4pm):

SM Entertainment has released a few more teaser images in anticipation of Taeyeon’s upcoming comeback. The singer also took the chance to tease fans by posting a few unseen photos on her Instagram.

7 songs will be included in her mini album and the title track is said to be a mix of R&B and EDM with a “trendy beat that has a tropical house feel” to it.

Take a look at the photos here:

Taeyeon made her solo debut in October 2015 with the album “I” which featured the title track of the same name. In February this year, she then released “Rain” and “Secret” to kickstart SM Entertainment’s digital music channel project, SM Station.

However, even before her solo debut, Taeyeon was already a successful solo vocalist in South Korea, garnering attention for her various dramas and movies soundtracks. Her most notable releases were “And One”, the original soundtrack to “That Winter, The Wind Blows”, and “Closer”, which was played in “To The Beautiful You”.

UPDATE (23rd June, 5:40pm):

As if the previous photo teasers did not cause enough damage to fans (read: hyperventilations, heart attacks), SM Entertainment has released a few more photos of Taeyeon that are stunningly beautiful.

Take a look at the photos, which were said to be shot in California, here:

In addition, the track list for “Why”, which was uploaded on SM Entertainment’s social media, revealed that 7 songs will be recorded in this album. Fellow Girls’ Generation member Hyoyeon will be featured in “Up & Down”, a strong dance track with “exciting brass sounds”.

In anticipation of the album, Taeyeon will also unveil “Starlight”, featuring R&B singer Dean, as the pre-release track on 25th June.
