It’s time, almost.

The greatest music festival and awards show in Asia, the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards (2015 MAMA), is slated to take place in Hong Kong on 2nd December. And some of your favourite K-Pop idols/idol groups will be attending the event!

Despite the confusion a little earlier that South Korean entertainment powerhouse YG Entertainment’s artistes have been excluded from the line-up, BIGBANG and iKON have confirmed that they will be there. The announcement came alongside official word that JYP Entertainment’s Park Jin Young, global Korean superstar PSY, as well as 2NE1 leader CL is also on the explosive list of 2015 MAMA attendees.

And that’s not all.

The official Mnet MAMA Twitter account also posted up a tweet to say that SM Entertainment’s K-Pop idol girl group f(x) will be there for a special collaboration with, get this, the Pet Shop Boys:

It’s turning out to be some event, that’s for sure. There could be more surprises in tow too!

Meanwhile, what little we do know for now is that BIGBANG is currently leading the fan vote of every category they are nominated in e.g. the “Male Group” category (with 34.6%) and the “Best Dance Performance Male Group category (with 34%). They are also leading in the highly coveted “Best Music Video”, “Artiste of the Year”, and “Song of the Year” categories.

YG Entertainment’s newest idol boy group, iKON, is currently leading the “Best New Male Artiste” category.

On top of that, a new additional programming for 2015 MAMA was announced prior to the line-up release. For the first time ever, fans can participate in a unique experience called the “2015 MAMA Nominees Day & Night”, which will be held from 28th November through 1st December at the Plaza Hollywood in central Hong Kong.

2015 MAMA Line-Up

The 4-day event will include artiste meet-and-greets, cover dance contests, and exhibitions. And finally, on 1st December, fans will be able to show off their K-Pop swag as they dance to remixes of 2015 MAMA nominee songs at Lan Kwai Fong, Hong Kong’s hottest nightlife district.

Tickets for 2015 MAMA are priced from approximately $114 USD to $269 USD and can be purchased through Hong Kong Ticketing.
