“llao llao”, the frozen yogurt (froyo) trend which took Singapore by storm is ready to do the same in Malaysia.
Pronounced as “yao yao” (and not “lau lau”), it’s the fastest growing European and Asian franchise in the froyo market. Originally from Spain, “llao llao” first opened in Singapore about a year ago and has since gained an unbelievable amount of attention, leading to long queues and waiting time.
But what makes it so special and how is it different from other “soft serve” food/dessert trends?
As it’s natural, it’s one of the healthiest and most recommended products in the world, thanks to the goodness in it and its high nutritional value. It is made from skimmed milk at the moment of serving and combined with the finest toppings (from freshly-chopped seasonal fruits to cereals, fun crunchy toppings and delicious sauces), making it even more delicious and healthy.
And unlike most froyos, “llao llao” is practically fat-free as it has only 0.18% of fats.
In fact, people are known to replace their meals with a heaping serving of “llao llao” because it’s that filling and that good!
Their top-selling combo is perhaps their “Sanum” (pronounced as “Sa-noom”), which is everyone’s favourite, really. You may or may not have seen only about a million posts on Instagram or Facebook of this iconic “llao llao” parfait.
“Sanum” is a froyo combo that you can customise as you like with 3 types of fruits (watermelon, mango, strawberries, kiwi, banana, melon, pineapple), 2 crunches (almond brittle, muesli with chocolate, Oreos, dehydrated cranberry, caramelized sunflower seeds, and more), and one sauce (mango, white chocolate, black chocolate, caramel, Raffaello sauce, and more).
Oh, yum! It’ll take us a long time before we run out of “Sanum” combos to try, we reckon 🙂
