It’s gritty, it’s dark.
We can’t say for sure, but Luthor may have already been thrown into the jail in the upcoming DC Comic superhero film, “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice“. I mean, don’t you think this looks like a mugshot?
You see, Luthor is a wealthy and power-hungry business magnate with incredible technological prowess in the DC Universe. Though his goals typically centre on killing Superman, he carefully crafted his public persona in order to avoid suspicion and arrest. He is also well known for his philanthropy, donating millions of dollars to Metropolis over the years, funding parks, foundations, and charities. Given his high status and power as a supervillain, he is always seen wearing suits in the comic books.
However, our first look at Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor showed us something else. He’s still got the menacing look, but it seems like he’s wearing prison clothes.
Director Zack Snyder is known for muting every colour of his films with just the right amount of tease. He may have muted the colour of the picture, but the shirt Eisenberg’s wearing bears a striking resemblance to the bright orange jumpsuit.

Regarding Eisenberg’s role, Snyder told EW that “he’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen”.
Other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course.
There’s no official plot for the film yet, which is why we can’t be sure if there’s a much bigger threat than Luthor. Snyder did not share much details about Luthor, but he did mention that Luthor is an intelligent being who may have been given way too much of his plan.
Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake. He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.
This should be easy for Eisenberg, who previously portrayed an equally intelligent millionaire in “The Social Network”.
