Chinese actress Zhao Lusi (赵露思) appears to be steadily recovering after facing immense mistreatment from her former agency. However, despite making a successful comeback with her latest drama, the actress says she’s not ready to return to acting just yet.
The 27-year-old recently starred in “Love’s Ambition (许我耀眼)”, drawing praise from fans and critics for her performance. In the drama, Zhao Lusi starred as Xu Yan, appearing alongside actor William Chan (陳偉霆). The drama concluded its run over the weekend, generating impressive viewership. There are also rumours that the success of the drama brought many acting offers for Zhao Lusi. However, it’s unlikely that the star will take up the offers.

In a recent livestream, Zhao Lusi discussed her current condition and her recovery process since the allegations against her former agency. For those unaware, the actress previously exposed her former company for subjecting her to years of mental and physical abuse. The mistreatment even caused the star to suffer from severe depression and aphasia. While she has shown steady recovery, Zhao Lusi says that she still needs time off from work.
The starlet admits that her mental state is still unstable, making it difficult for her to work long hours. Zhao Lusi even revealed that she requires long periods of rest to recover her strength after attending a short event. She also mentioned recently doing a brainwave test, but found that her brain activity is still low despite improved mood. Since the star hasn’t completely recovered, she said she doesn’t have plans to return to filming soon.

Zhao Lusi said that combating her illness requires her to balance her mindset and avoid rushing for results because that could increase her anxiety. Thankfully, the actress shared some good news with fans, revealing that the stress-induced hives that plagued her for years have gradually disappeared. She said that the hives and other symptoms have significantly subsided because of reduced emotional stress.
Even if Zhao Lusi isn’t ready to return to acting, we’re sure her fans will continue to love and support her until she’s back to doing what she does best. In the meantime, check out her recent work, “Love’s Ambition”:
