After a long wait, F4 members Jerry Yan (言承旭), Vic Zhou (周渝民) and Vanness Wu (吳建豪) kicked off the “F Forever” reunion tour with the first show in Shanghai. However, one particular moment from the first show sparked tons of reactions online.
On 19th December 2025 (Friday), F4, sans Ken Zhu (朱孝天), performed the first of their four-day concert at the Shanghai Mercedes-Benz Arena. The concert is part of the group’s reunion tour to commemorate their 25th anniversary in 2026. Tickets for the concert even sold out in minutes, highlighting the fans’ eagerness to catch the group back on stage.
The concert sparked viral discussions, such as the members’ impressive visuals and stage presence. However, the moment that had many fans tearing up was Jerry’s touching tribute to the late Barbie Hsu (徐熙媛). When F4 announced their reunion, many had hoped the group would honour the actress, who played Shancai in “Meteor Garden”.
During his solo performance, Jerry paused in the middle of the song and brought out the necklace that his character, Dao Mingsi, gifted Shancai in the 2001 series. He then hung the pendant around a telescope prop, referencing a pivotal scene in “Meteor Garden”. The star then stood solemnly and bowed his head, as if saying a silent prayer for Barbie.
Barbie passed away earlier this year at the age of 48 due to influenza-related pneumonia. Her sudden passing shocked the Taiwanese entertainment industry. Jerry’s tribute at the concert prompted a wave of emotions from fans, especially those who remembered the exact scene he referenced and his on-screen chemistry with Barbie.
The concert continues with its final show today (Monday, 22nd December 2025). However, B’in music has yet to announce additional dates for the tour. In the meantime, F4 and Mayday’s Ashin (五月天 阿信) will release a collaboration track later this week. Here are some clips of Jerry’s tribute:
