World Cup 2026, Formula 1, & More: Klook Brings M’sians Closer To The World’s Biggest Sporting Events

Klook has unveiled the expansion of its offerings to include sports and live events, bringing sports enthusiasts closer to some of the world’s biggest sporting moments – from the FIFA World Cup 2026 to Formula 1, alongside Roland-Garros and Wimbledon! The launch adds Sports and Live Events to Klook’s wealth of experiences, connecting fans to premium matchday access.

Football remains the most followed sport here in Malaysia, driven by a deep emotional connection among fans and the enduring dream of seeing Harimau Malaya on the World Cup stage. Formula 1 is also growing in popularity, fuelled by pop culture moments like the Netflix series “Drive to Survive” and the film “F1” (2025), as well as a strong sense of national pride in Petronas’ role as title sponsor of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team. Increasingly, this passion is shaping how Malaysians travel, with fans planning trips around marquee matches and race weekends, turning sporting moments into unforgettable, experience-led getaways.

According to Klook’s Travel Pulse 2026, mega-events have become catalysts for travellers and the expansion of Klook’s sports and live events offerings is timed to meet a measurable shift in their behaviour. Data shows that one in five global travellers now plan their entire vacation around a specific event, with 25% specifically citing sporting matches as their main travel motivator.

How events are reshaping travel behaviours:

  • 91% of fans use mega-events as a springboard for a longer trip. Rather than a “fly-in, fly-out” approach, 41% of travellers extend their stay by at least three days to explore local attractions and hidden gems.
  • Due to the high-stakes nature of live events, these travellers are more decisive. Nearly half of the fans now secure event tickets one to six months in advance, creating a longer window to facilitate the rest of their travel needs, from local transport to curated tours.

“The World Cup, Roland-Garros, Wimbledon, Formula 1 – these are the most iconic sporting events that fans build their year around, and they’re increasingly becoming reasons for people to travel,” said Nathan Szabo, Klook’s Head of Western Supply and Strategic Partnerships. “Bringing all four onto our platform means fans can build the complete trip around them, from premium hospitality and match access to local tours, transport, connectivity, and more. That’s the depth we’ve always been bringing to the experiences space, enabling travelers to uncover what makes a destination come alive, now on the world’s biggest stages.”

World Cup 2026

World Cup 2026 spans 16 host cities across the United States, Canada, and Mexico from 11th June to 19th July, 2026, the largest edition of the tournament in history. Klook brings fans the opportunity to access World Cup 2026 hospitality packages featuring premium seating, elevated dining, and exclusive matchday environments.

For many Malaysians, the World Cup is a major viewing and travel moment as it continues to unite football enthusiasts through shared viewing experiences.

Formula 1

Formula 1 hospitality and tickets are available across all 24 races on the 2026 global calendar. Klook offers a wide range of options per race, from grandstand and stand locations to hospitality inclusions, including single-day passes covering Friday qualifying, ensuring accessible entry points across every circuit on the calendar.

The event, held at Stade Roland-Garros in Paris from 24th May to 7th June, 2026, is one of four tennis Grand Slams, drawing fans from across APAC who pair tournament attendance with broader France and Europe itineraries.

Wimbledon 2026

Wimbledon 2026 debentures are now available on Klook. Held at the All England Club in London from 29th June to 12th July, 2026, Wimbledon is the oldest and most prestigious tennis Grand Slam in the world. Klook offers debenture seats on Centre Court and Court No. 1, giving fans guaranteed access and premium sightlines to the sport’s defining matches.

Tickets for the World Cup 2026, Roland-Garros 2026, Wimbledon 2026 and Formula 1 are now available on Klook’s platform.
