Physical or verbal arguments in shopping centres aren’t all that new. We’ve seen a few altercations that took place in these public spaces with the recent one being two restaurant employees beating each other at a mall in Shah Alam.

Despite it being Ramadan when one must practice patience, unfortunately, these two men made quite the ruckus at a Giant hypermarket when they went for each other’s throats, literally.

A video that has been circulating online showed two men fighting at a food court. The incident was reported to have taken place at Giant Senawang, Negeri Sembilan on Tuesday (18th April). The two men were first seen in a verbal dispute before one of them started physically attacking the other. The woman, believed to be the wife of the man being strangled, tried to calm them down but to no avail.

As seen in the video, a man in a red shirt calmly approached the scene to stop the physical altercation between the individuals. It was understood that the man in red was a police officer who happened to be passing by on his day off. The officer presented his badge and successfully separated the men before telling both of them to take a seat at the tables provided.

Netizens praised the officer for taking immediate action despite not being on duty. Some were wondering what the fight was about while others were concerned about the child who had to witness his father being involved in the physical confrontation.

At the time of writing, there has been no update on what caused the argument to escalate that quickly nor has Giant Senawang released a statement regarding the incident. With Raya just around the corner, here’s a reminder to avoid getting in trouble with the law.
