In 2023, Taiwanese singer Jam Hsiao (萧敬腾) announced his engagement to his manager, Summer Lin (林有慧), revealing that the pair had been secretly dating for 16 years. A year after registering their marriage, the couple had their long-awaited wedding ceremony on 13th October 2024 (Sunday).
The couple held their wedding at the Taipei Marriot Hotel, with hundreds of guests in attendance. Jam and Summer dressed to the nines during the grand ceremony, with the bride wearing a dress from Taiwanese bridal shop LinLi Boutique (林莉婚紗).
The total cost of the ceremony was reportedly over seven figures, which included TWD90 million (approximately RM12 million) worth of jewellery from Tiffany & Co. and Chaumet, and wedding outfits exceeding TWD100 million (approximately RM13.3 million). While the hall and outfits were eye-catching, the main focus was the couple’s wedding vows.
Guests listened as the two expressed their love for each other and made promises for the future. Summer admitted she was against reciting their vows because she felt it was unprofessional behaviour for her as an artists’ manager. However, she still wanted to show her gratitude for her husband. She said, “When I open my eyes, I think about what good deeds I did in my previous life to deserve such a happy life now. Because of this, I must do more good deeds because I want to be with you (Jam) in the next life.”
When it was his turn to recite his vows, Jam cried as he said, “Dear Summer Lin, I believe we’re fated to be together in life, and my mission in every lifetime is to find you again in the vast sea of people.” He then proudly proclaimed, “Wife! You have been with me for half my life. I will continue to follow and love you for the rest of my life! I promise to be with you for the next eight lifetimes, and I’ll find you in every lifetime, no matter what it takes!”
The couple’s romantic promises touched the guests’ hearts, including veteran Taiwanese television host Chang Hsiao-Yen (张小燕), who hosted the event. Following their grand wedding, Jam and Summer will fly off for their honeymoon trip. We would like to congratulate the couple on their wedding. May their love last lifetimes.
