After hinting at their upcoming military enlistment, SEVENTEEN (세븐틴) members DK (도겸) and Vernon (버논) have officially announced their conscription dates. The two idols are scheduled to begin their service in September and August, making them the fifth and sixth members of SEVENTEEN to enlist.
Earlier today (Monday, 27th July 2026), PLEDIS Entertainment unveiled details for DK and Vernon’s upcoming military service. In the official statement released through SEVENTEEN’s official Weverse page, the company announced that the two idols will be enlisting on 8th September 2026 (Tuesday) and 20th August 2026 (Thursday) respectively.
DK, whose real name is Lee Seok Min (이석민), will enlist as an active duty soldier in the army. The company assured that he’ll participate in all official activities before his enlistment date, which includes his appearance in Malaysia for the Skechers store opening ceremony and meet-and-greet at Sunway Pyramid.
Likewise, his groupmate Vernon, whose real name is Hansol Vernon Chwe (최한솔), will also participate in all his official schedules before his enlistment in August. As PLEDIS didn’t disclose his military service plans in the official statement, it’s believed Vernon will be enlisting for alternative service.
The company also asked fans to refrain from visiting the enlistment ceremony out of respect for the other enlistees and their families. Once DK and Vernon begin their military service, they will be absent from SEVENTEEN’s group activities. However, the two idols have prepared a variety of content in advance for their fans.
Before the official announcement, DK has personally confirmed his enlistment in a recent livestream. The singer had recently concluded a concert in Kaohsiung with groupmate Seungkwan (승관) as part of their subunit, DxS (도겸X승관). The latter is also scheduled to enlist in the military later this year, along with fellow members Mingyu (민규) and Dino (디노).

DK and Vernon are the fifth and sixth members of SEVENTEEN to fulfil their mandatory military service, after Jeonghan (정한), Wonwoo (원우), Hoshi (호시) and Woozi (우지). Jeonghan recently concluded his military service in June, while Wonwoo will complete his service in January 2027. Meanwhile, Hoshi and Woozi will conclude their military service in March 2027.
