“Sebuah Epitome: Saya Siti Nurhaliza” is our beloved singer, Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza’s most recent concert which was held on 9th March 2024 at Axiata Arena and was broadcast on Astro Ria on the 13th of April. The concert was organised by the singer’s humanitarian foundation Yayasan Nurjiwa in aid of the Palestinian people who are suffering because of Israel’s strike since October 2023.
Apart from special duet performances with Judika and Syamel, the songstress also invited 25 celebrity guests to watch her show including Jaclyn Victor, Aisha Retno, Ernie Zakri, Hael Husaini, Hafiz Hamidun and more. There were plenty of highlights during the performances but there was one thing that happened backstage that went viral after the concert aired over the weekend.
A video had been circulating on TikTok yesterday (Monday,15th April), showing a tense moment backstage during Siti’s recent concert. The video caught the public’s attention as the No.1 was seen being stern while communicating with a crew member in the video.
It’s believed that the tension arose from an issue with the celebrity’s in-ear monitor that was not turned on before her performance on stage. In the seven-second video, the singer said, “Is the ear monitor on? It’s not turned on yet,” a few seconds before the screen opened. Luckily, the staff managed to switch the device before she got on stage.
In response to the viral video, the mother-of-two took to Twitter to address the situation. She joked with her followers, saying it was a moment when they could see her turn into a “lion.” The clip uploaded to her TikTok account originally was meant to show what went on behind the scenes but the in-ear monitor incident also happened to be fans’ first time seeing Malaysia’s sweetheart looking very stern.
When it comes to Siti, fondly known as TokTi, no one could get angry or take fault with her. Netizens commented on both her TikTok and Twitter posts saying that they found the entire thing humorous and commended her for taking her craft seriously and wanting her performance to go off without a hitch.
