The Hong Kong entertainment scene is in mourning after veteran actor Benz Hui (許紹雄) passed away earlier today (28th October 2025, Tuesday). He was 76.
His death came after reports from 27th October 2025 (Monday) that he was hospitalised in critical condition. His illness wasn’t disclosed previously, but his family has revealed that the actor had cancer. His family confirmed that the actor passed away from multiple cancer-related organ failure.
The star was also a well-known family man, highly regarded for his devotion to his wife, daughter and stepson. Benz notably spent millions of dollars to help his daughter build her cafe business in Singapore. He had also built a close bond with a few of his co-stars, namely Charmaine Sheh, who sees the late actor as a father figure.
Benz’s family have thanked friends and fans for their condolences. They also mention making funeral arrangements and will announce details later. We extend our condolences to Benz’s family, and may they find solace during this difficult time.
