Celebrity entrepreneur Dato Seri Vida is currently going through a difficult time. Her cars and assets were recently seized by the Kuala Lumpur High Court due to an alleged unpaid debt. She then criticised the subcontractor who accused her of failing to pay for the renovation project, which she claimed was left unfinished.
Not only was she allegedly scammed out of her money over the viral incident back home, but she was also scammed during her holiday in London. Looks like this mama just can’t catch a break. Here’s what happened:

In her most recent TikTok video posted today (Thursday, 28th November), Dato Seri Vida was seen excitedly boarding a neon-lit trishaw, which the rider told her would be a 10-15 minute ride around the city of London. During the ride, she noticed something suspicious – no other tourists were riding these trishaws around the city. “Everyone was looking at me riding this thing. Look, no one else is riding them,” she wrote in the video. While stopping at a traffic light, the businesswoman spotted another trishaw rider quietly waiting for customers.
After reaching their destination, the QU PUTEH founder was shocked to find that she was charged £235 (RM1,321.80). “He lied to me. This is how much he charged me. I suspect he just came up with the price on the spot. I’m sure it shouldn’t cost that much,” she told the person behind the camera. It was then that she made the connection as to why no one else was riding the trishaws like her. “I managed to get a discount after telling him that I was a student here. So, whoever wants to visit London next time, remember this so you don’t get scammed,” she added.

Netizens reacted to the TikTok post, with some wondering why Dato Seri Vida didn’t ask for the price before boarding the trishaw. Others suggested that she should have just gone to Melaka if she wanted to ride a trishaw, as they’re popular in Bandar Hilir. A few urged her to file a police report to ensure that no one else would fall victim to the scam.
Thankfully for the entrepreneur, RM1k doesn’t cause a dent in her bank account. However, we do hope that this incident will serve as a lesson and a reminder to always have a local or a guide with you when travelling abroad to avoid being scammed.
