Tiger Beer Brings The ‘ONGsome’ To Their 2021 Chinese New Year Launch

Malaysia’s number one beer, Tiger Beer, is famous for preparing grand launch events to strongly kick-start the Chinese New Year period. Hopeful in ensuring the tradition does not crumble this year, Tiger provided an ‘ONGsome’ launch to the media as well as trade partners in their own homes and workplaces, but with an innovative ‘Augmented Reality’ twist’.

Everything from auspicious greetings, appetising Chinese New Year snacks, fun games, exclusive goodies, and with plenty of Tiger Beer, the Tiger ONG Box has all of it for guests to experience at Tiger’s most legendary Chinese New Year launches. Recipients started the unboxing process with an Augmented Reality approach as they witnessed Roland Bala, the Managing Director of Heineken Malaysia Berhad make his appearance on the virtual stage to his audience.

After that, came the main aspect of Tiger’s Chinese New Year campaign, which is “Bring on the ONG”, featuring limited-edition Tiger Beer and Tiger Crystal festive cans. Tiger has presented limited-edition festive can designs here in Malaysia for the first time, with an inspiring message to ensure a cheerful Chinese New Year celebration this year. The collectible cans come in bright red and gold colours which are available in a couple of sets of Tiger Beer and Tiger Crystal packaging. If you merge them together, the characters displayed on the cans would give the greeting ‘Wang Shi Ru Yi’, which stands for ‘Be Prosperous As You Wish’. This gives encouragement to consumers to look forward to the coming year with more hope and confidence for more luck.

Not only the limited edition designs look wonderful on their own, but they also come to life when scanning them with a smartphone. By doing this especially on the ‘Wang’ and ‘Ru’ cans, an exclusive Augmented Reality experience with auspicious greetings will be revealed as an invitation for more ONG. Moreover, the scanning will also unlock a free spin on the Tiger ‘ONG’ Wheel that comes with outstanding prizes for consumers to claim.

Consumers will also get a hold of the limited-edition cans when buying one carton of Tiger Beer and Tiger Crystal at partaking off-trade outlets. A collection of two sets are available for grabs, which consists of two designs decorated in each set. From 16th January to 10th February 2021, these limited-edition cans will be available at participating outlets in Malaysia, while stocks last. Customers can check it out here at https://tigercny.my/ for additional information as well as experiencing the Augmented Reality animation themselves.

Consumers who purchase large bottles of Tiger Beer, Tiger Crystal, and even Heineken® or Guinness at partaking restaurants, coffee shops, or food courts, can look underneath their bottle caps to check if there are ‘ONG’ characters, which represents different prizes to be claimed. Some of these prizes include ‘ONGsome’ cash Angpows and Tiger Ong Lai Bowl Sets and start from now until 28th February 2021.

Besides the Tiger Chinese New Year goodies mentioned above, consumers can also claim Guinness Gold Playing Cards with every purchase of Guinness products at a price of RM200 at participating supermarkets and hypermarkets. Furthermore, fans of Heineken® can claim an exclusive Heineken® Coller Box with RM250 used on Heineken® as well as Heineken® 0.0.

If consumers wish to redeem, they can visit here at https://tigercny.my/ to upload their receipts. Once it’s confirmed, the prizes will be sent through delivery straight on their doorsteps. Additionally, if consumers were to spend every RM288 on HEINEKEN Malaysia products with a single receipt, they will receive a free spin on the ONG Wheel, with a chance to win even more rewarding prizes.

If consumers are more focused on winning an exclusive Tiger x Pestle & Mortar T-shirt this Chinese New Year, they can just easily spend more than RM20 on HEINEKEN Malaysia products found at 7 Eleven and MyNews outlets in Malaysia. Redemption can be initiated by taking a photo of your receipt and sending it to contact number 011-3987 9037 using WhatsApp from 16th January until 10th February 2021. People shopping at 99 Speedmart can win prizes like an iPhone 12 and RM50 vouchers when buying RM200 worth of HEINEKEN Malaysia products in one receipt between 1st January and 15th February 2021.

Fortunately, consumers don’t need to leave their homes to obtain these amazing rewards this Chinese New Year. Rather than just getting cold beers and ciders delivered directly to their doors, consumers will also receive a set of Tiger Ong Lai Bown Set when purchasing RM210 worth of Tiger Beer, Heineken or Guinness, with the inclusion of Tiger Crystal. This promotion will only last until 28th February 2021. For more information, refer here at www.drinkies.my.
