These Minimalist Drops From Timex x Maison Margiela & MING Have Maximalist Impact!

Among all the accessories a person can have, wristwatches are oftentimes seen as the ultimate status symbol. Coming in a wide variety of designs, chronometers not only tell the time, but speak volumes about the person wearing them.

However, some pieces take the minimalist route, expressing unprecedented elegance not through over-the-top motifs and prismatic hues, but with a lack thereof. Sometimes, less is more – and these watches are proof of that.

Timex x MM6 Maison Margiela Collection

Timex came out swinging all throughout this week with back-to-back releases. Among them is a special collaborative piece with MM6 Maison Margiela. The Timex x MM6 Maison Margiela collection features two distinct offerings, the T80 Steel Watch and the T80 Ring Watch.

The T80 Ring is made of stainless steel and has an expansion band to accommodate ring sizes. A co-branded mirrored mask softly frames the watch’s digital display on the face.

Meanwhile, the T80 Steel Watch comes with an additional stainless steel bracelet. Arriving in a 34mm case size, the watch features a mirror-like finish while its display has an INDIGLO® backlight.

Margiela’s numerical signature is engraved on the clasp of the steel bracelet, matching the display’s design.

Both the T80 Ring and T80 Ring Watch will retail for US$180 (~RM780) and US$200 (~RM867), respectively, and will be available for purchase via Timex, the MM6 Maison Margiela website, as well as select physical retailers.

MING 37.02 Minimalist

For the first time since its inception, the independent Swiss watchmaker, MING, has debuted a timepiece designed, engineered and managed entirely in-house.

Introducing the MING 37.02 Minimalist. This bold timepiece takes everything we know about MING watches and turns it completely on its head. This was made possible thanks to the continued growth of the young horologist brand.

Bell & Ross’s New BR-05 Skeleton Arctic Blue Is Anything But Cold

The new reference debuts with a white lume, an in-house illuminating technology that glows a true white shade — an extremely difficult feat in watchmaking.

Coming in at 38mm in case diameter, the watch features a stainless steel build in a polished-brushed finish. Beneath its dome-shaped crystal is a sapphire dial inset with liquid-filled MING Polar White luminous indices.

This is topped off with Super-LumiNova X1-coated luminous hands, which have a blue glow that improves the watch’s readability in low light while providing some visual contrast.

Powering the timepiece is the self-winding Sellita for MING SW300.M1 for unprecedented precision. Furthermore, it is geared with anthracite skeletonised bridges, a matte anthracite base, an open rotor, as well as a 45-hour power reserve.

The 37.02 Minimalist retails at around CHF3,250 (~RM16,273) and can be purchased at MING’s website.
