Just last week, fans of Suria FM DJ Tyzo were shocked to discover that the popular DJ had been let go from his job. At the time, no explanation was given regarding his termination which left many confused, upset and frustrated. But, DJ Tyzo claimed he had not wanted to leave Suria FM.
This prompted many speculations as to the reason for his dismissal. Some claimed it had to do with him beating his fellow DJ – DJ Lin – in the recent Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian 2023. But now, others alleged he was fired over a request to increase his salary!

Last Friday (12th January), General Manager of Suria FM, Roslinda Abdul Majid or better known as DJ Lin announced the termination of DJ Tyzo’s services as a host for the Suria Petang segment. At the time, she reportedly claimed the decision made was part of new strategies and plans to create more interesting and fresh content.
However, Tyzo himself later said on his Instagram: “I’m sorry. This was not my decision.” He added that he still wanted to work and this was not his will. Tyzo alleged him winning Most Popular Radio Announcer in ABPBH35 might have something to do with his dismissal, but gave no further details. DJ Lin also later clarified that she would explain further regarding Tyzo’s termination on Friday.
Recently, there have been rumours that DJ Tyzo “demanded a salary increase” shortly after his win. This has led to some claiming it was the reason why he was let go. Tyzo has since responded to the allegations, saying he was not confirming or denying the alleged rumour. “I will respond to it after hearing Suria FM’s official statement,” he said, adding the rumours likely would not be used as evidence against him.

Still, netizens are now pondering the legality of the move, with several pointing out he was terminated before his contract was expired. As such, some wondered if he had the rights to sue the station for wrongful dismissal.
Well, the situation between DJ Tyzo and Suria FM is certainly turning out to be a sticky one, with plenty of netizens taking sides. Hopefully, Suria FM’s promised official statement on Friday will clarifying things and that they’ll be able to resolve the issue amiably.
