After the success with her 2023 album “Endless Summer Vacation”, which won her the Grammys for “Record of the Year” and “Best Pop Solo Performance”, Miley Cyrus is set to release a brand album “Something Beautiful” on 30th May 2025!
Before the anticipated release, Miley has been dropping hints on some much-needed teasers about her highly anticipated comeback. Here’s what we know so far:
1. Visual Album Inspired By Pink Floyd
In an exclusive interview with Bazaar for her 2024/2025 Harper’s Bazaar Cover story, Miley teased the concepts surrounding her album, saying, “The visual component of this is driving the sound”. She took inspiration from Pink Floyd’s album “The Wall”, “but with a better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture”, she tells Bazaar.
Along with her album, Miley released the trailer for her film accompanying her upcoming album drop, calling it “a unique visual experience fueled by fantasy” and “one of a kind pop opera”. It will be scored by 13 songs from the album and will be released in June.
2. Miley Sports A Vintage Mugler Piece For Her Album Cover
Decked in a 1997 Thierry Mugler couture piece of feathers and crystals, Miley released her album cover on her Instagram, seemingly setting the vibe on what to expect from the artist’s ninth album. She captioned, “a striking nod to the album’s bold aesthetic and visual storytelling”, paying homage to Miley’s bold sense of fashion, fans should expect a fashion extravaganza.
3. It’s Her Most Experimental Album Yet
Sharing the process of her album in her interview with Bazaar, Miley said she reached out to director Panos Cosmatos, of her favourite horror film, “Mandy”. Panos Cosmatos was reportedly heavily involved in the making of the album, stating that it is more experimental than all of her previous works. The Grammy winner also described the vibe of “Something Beautiful” as hypnotic and glamorous. “It’s a concept album that’s an attempt to medicate somewhat of a sick culture through music.”
4. She’s Collaborating With Her Boyfriend Maxx Morando
Miley spoke fondly of her long-time boyfriend, Maxx Morando, and his contributions to “Something Beautiful” in her cover interview with Bazaar. She stated, “I worked with my dad forever. That’s how my ex-husband and I met each other. I’ve always worked with the people that I love. And Maxx just inspires me so much.”
Reportedly, they have been working closely on the title track that shares the same name as the album, which Morando helped to write. He also aided in producing multiple songs for the upcoming release. Are you ready for Miley’s newest drop?
