Things have changed drastically for once-popular Asia Momentum Media (AMM, 亚洲心动娱乐) artist Sit Yeng Yi (薛影仪) aka Ah Yi (阿仪). In September this year, Sit Yeng Yi was officially let go by AMM over several counts of misconduct and insulting her manager Connie Lam (林宝玉).
But, the blow to her career allegedly hasn’t affected Sit Yeng Yi too badly. In fact, she recently opted to celebrate her “One plus one equals A Yi (一加一等于阿仪)” MV reaching 2 million views with a Q&A! Unfortunately, things didn’t quite go the way she planned.
On 8th November, Sit Yeng Yi announced her plans via a post which read: “I’m so happy that “One plus one equals A Yi” has 2 million views! I will hold a Q&A event, and everyone can ask me questions. If there are good enquiries, I will try my best to answer as many questions as possible.”
Unsurprisingly, she received a barrage of queries, some questioning her choices, others genuinely curious about her life. A few stood out however, such as one who decided to get up and personal with the former Miss Asia Pageant 2021 participant. “Are you a virgin?” the eager fan asked to which Ah Yi responded with a “yes”.
Another netizen then suggested they “compare” their virginity, adding they had lost theirs, which had Ah Yi replying: “You’re a b*tch.” Someone else allegedly wanted confirmation if Ah Yi really truly was a virgin as they questioned: “Do you still have a hymen (thin tissue located at the opening of the vagina)?” “Of course!” she responded quickly. For the one person who still insisted on asking her how many times she’s done it, she responded with a succinct: “Go and die.”
Other than questions about her virginity, the 39-year-old also fielded queries into other aspects of her life. A netizen ventured to ask why she liked Hong Kong artist Gloriana Wong (黄榕), to the point where she was willing to go against AMM’s directive to not associate with her. “She is kind,” Sit Yeng Yi explained.
Unfortunately, her wholesome response did not deter questions about her relationship with Gloriana. “I’m not dating her, I’m not gay!” Yeng Yi exclaimed. “(We) are just friends!” Relentless, the netizen then asked if she was into drag, to which Gloriana clarified: “We are good friends, not drag friends.” Yeng Yi also tagged Gloriana in another comment, emphasizing: “We like boys!”
Someone else asked when she would apologise to Connie Lam, presumably for the rude remarks. “Give me your life,” she reportedly stated. Clearly, she has no intention of retracting her statement on her former manager. Another netizen also ruffled her feathers when they asked: “Will you marry me?” to which she retorted: “Take your (own) life.”
Well, regardless of her status with AMM, Sit Yeng Yi still seems to be doing fine on her own and is still as lively as ever. As for her relationship with Gloriana, netizens are still insisting that she should be careful about her, but the former model seems confident in her own choices. We wish her well!
