As the victims of the Wang Fuk estate fire in Tai Po attempt to rebuild their lives after the disaster, many Hong Kong and global stars have extended help through donations. One of those stars is singer Hins Cheung (张敬轩), who recently earned praise for his generosity.
Earlier this week, a Threads user revealed the astonishing donation she received from Hins. It’s believed the individual is a fan of the singer and was in contact with his fan club team for aid following the Tai Po fire. Hins had previously reached out directly to affected fans to offer his assistance.

However, what the fan didn’t expect to receive was an envelope containing a thick stack of HK$1,000 (approximately RM530) banknotes. While she didn’t disclose the total amount, netizens estimated there were at least seven bundles in the envelope. On the rough assumption of HK$10,000 (approximately RM5,300) per bundle, the donation could amount to HK$70,000 to HK$100,000 (approximately RM37,050 to RM53,000).
The fan expressed shock at the massive cash donation and thanked the singer for his support. Another fan also received a donation, but never disclosed the amount. Netizens have since reacted to the gesture, praising Hins for his generosity. Some also commended him for directly providing aid to his affected fans, rather than through a charity.

Besides monetary support, Hins also reportedly provided mental and emotional support to those affected by the fire. Some residents said they received calls from the singer’s fan club, offering assistance and comfort. Many praised these calls, describing them as a source of solace amid the chaos.
It’s heartwarming to see celebrities use their platform to provide support and comfort during trying times. Kudos to Hins for his generosity, and we hope the fans will pay it forward in the future.
