The iconic Village Park eatery has long been famous for their nasi lemak, ayam goreng, and sambal, and it’s not uncommon to see long queues of customers waiting to demolish a plate of the much-desired dish. Good news to all Village Park Nasi Lemak lovers: Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur is now collaborating with the legendary restaurant, from 15th to 28th January 2026 at the Lobby Lounge.

Founded for over 25 years ago, by Datuk Seri Mohd Shamil Ngoh Abdullah, Village Park Nasi Lemak is widely regarded as a taste of Malaysia, deeply rooted in local culture and cherished by generations of Malaysians. As the traditional delicacy continues to gain international recognition as a symbol of Malaysia’s food heritage, this collaboration serves as a proud tribute to a dish that represents the soul of the country.

As the first five-star luxury hotel to be recognised and certified by the Department of National Heritage Malaysia for championing authentic Malaysian Heritage Cuisine in 2025, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur continues to elevate Malaysian heritage flavours by partnering with Village Park to ensure local cuisine remains relevant, respected, and celebrated globally.

Alongside Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur partnering with Visit Malaysia 2026, this collaboration also aligns with the vision of the VM2026 campaign. Spotlighting nasi lemak, one of Malaysia’s most iconic dishes, supports national efforts to position Kuala Lumpur as a must-visit culinary destination for both regional and global travellers.

A hawker-style stall will be placed at the Lobby Lounge to recreate the charm and nostalgia of Malaysia’s vibrant food culture. Guests can enjoy Village Park’s signature Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng, renowned for its fluffy fragrant coconut rice, the Village Park sambal, the famous ayam goreng, and authentic accompaniments presented in a setting that seamlessly blends tradition with luxury.

The collaboration will be available daily from 15th to 28th January 2026, 11.30 am to 3.00 pm at the Lobby Lounge, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur. For dining reservations and inquiries, contact +603 2786 2378 or email dining.kl@shangri-la.com.
