The drama between Singaporean actor Aaron Aziz and Malaysian director Syamsul Yusof has yet to reach its conclusion. However, the former seemed to be doing well these days as he recently made an appearance alongside Australian actor Chris Hemsworth during the premiere of Netflix’s “Extraction 2”.
Unfortunately, the happy occasion wasn’t received well by some netizens as they took the opportunity to criticised and body shame the 47-year-old star.
As seen in the video above, Dato’ Aaron Aziz had the opportunity to go the Manila, Philippines for the Netflix premiere event of its new original movie “Extraction 2” starring Chris Hemsworth. The actor’s appearance led many to believe that he had a role in the movie but Netflix recently confirmed that he was just attending the event as a guest.
Sadly, after the video was posted, some people online were quick to poke fun at the actor, even bringing up Syamsul Yusof’s statement that he has gained a lot of weight. The public figure’s wife, Diyana Halik posted a screenshot of a (now-deleted) post from a local media outlet that showed the director body shaming her husband. In her captions, she asked for help to recommend a good lawyer for them.
“I can’t take this body shaming anymore. How can something so happy and positive gets so twisted like this?” she wrote. Even Aaron himself spoke out about the offensive post and negative comments left by netizens as well as expressing his weariness of the situation. “What did I ever do to you? Why the endless criticisms? I’m only human. Do you want me to be depressed for all of you to be satisfied? I’m tired, please leave me alone,” said the father-of-three.
Thankfully for Aaron, his fans have his back. Many left positive and supportive comments under the post in hopes that their favourite artist would feel better after what he’s been through recently. At the time of writing, neither Aaron nor his wife Diyana have updated on their next course of action.
Regardless if they plan to sue anyone or not, we hope that the actor and his family will rise above this petty drama.
