Earlier this week, fans were devastated to hear the news of actress Kim Saeron (김새론) ‘s death. Her funeral was held earlier on Wednesday (19th February), and many of her celebrity friends, including actors, actresses, and idols, showed up to pay their last respects.

Many have paid tribute to the young star on social media, but one particular heartbreaking tribute caught fans’ attention. PENTAGON member Kino (키노) took to his Instagram Story to mourn the loss of his friend, as well as to draw attention to an ongoing issue.

On Wednesday evening, Kino posted an Instagram Story to express his grief following the death of one of his dear friends. The most heartbreaking part of his post was when he pointed out that this was the second time he had bid farewell to a friend at the same funeral home, after losing ASTRO’s Moonbin (문빈) in 2023.

“For the past two years, I have said goodbye to two of my beloved friends at the same funeral home. Sae Ron must have missed Bin a lot. I haven’t slept in two days, but I still can’t fall asleep. Still, I believe that her family must be comforted by how many have attended to pay their last respects. How many more stars do we have to send away before this stops? What you see isn’t everything,” he wrote.

The idol further emphasised that there is no reason why public figures should have to endure baseless speculation, exaggerated narratives, and relentless criticism before honouring Saeron, saying, “Be happier there. You’ve worked hard.” Kino’s social media post has since been shared widely, with fans expressing their sorrow and sympathy for the singer and what he has been through.

Some agreed with his point about how cruel the entertainment industry can be, particularly when it comes to public backlash. We can only imagine the pain Kino and his fellow celebrity friends are currently enduring after laying Saeron to rest. May they find the strength to navigate this challenging time.
