Earlier this year, JTBC announced that top Hallyu actors Park Bo Gum (박보검) and Kim So Hyun (김소현) have been cast as the lead stars of their upcoming drama that is set to release in the second half of this year. Recently, it was revealed that actors Oh Jung Se (오정세), Lee Sang Yi (이상이), Heo Sung Tae (허성태), and Tae Won Seok (태원석) also be joining as supporting cast members of the much-anticipated series.
“Good Boy” is a youth action comedy drama that tells the story of a young group of Olympic medalists who face multiple challenges in life as special police officers. These talented and courageous young adults use their unique athletic skills to form a group named the “Olympics Avengers.” With their combined strengths and abilities, they work together to take on dangerous and powerful enemies and strive to make the world a safer place.

Park Bo Gum’s character, Yoon Dong Joo, is a young man who is born with a natural talent for fighting. He becomes a police officer in the Special Violent Crime Unit after quitting his Olympic gold medal boxing career due to personal tragedies. Kim So Hyun on the other hand, will be playing as an Olympic gold medalist shooter named Ji Han Na. She used to be known and loved by many for her attractive-looking appearance, but she suddenly quit her career after being involved in an incident that caught the nation by surprise.
Kim Jong Hyun, played by Lee Sang Yi, is a Special Violent Crime Unit sergeant who quit fencing due to an injury. Despite thinking that he will not be able to wield a sword again after the tragedy, his exceptional swordsmanship skills will be put to the test once again. Go Man Sik, who will be played by Heo Sung Tae, used to be an Olympic bronze medalist in wrestling and continued to strike his opponents down after becoming the leader of the Special Violent Crime Unit.
Oh Jung Se will play Min Joo Young who is a customs official in the show. He is secretly a ruthless and conniving individual who hides his true nature behind a mask of goodwill. Last but not least, Tae Won Suk will be playing the role of Shin Jae Hong. Despite him winning Korea’s first bronze medal in discus throw, he chooses to become a member of the Special Violent Crime Unit to prioritise his income for a living and for the sake of his family.


With this impressive cast lineup, fans are eagerly awaiting more updates on the drama, which is expected to bring a high-octane mix of action, comedy, and youthful romance to the South Korean TV landscape. Stay tuned for the release date!
