Operation Hours & Frequency For LRT, MRT, & Monorail Starting 4th May

Rapid KL has officially resume normal operating hours now that the conditional movement control order (MCO) is in effect today (Monday, 4th May).

The operator of the Rapid Rail, stage bus and the Rapid Ferry services are now operating from 6am until 11:30pm. To ensure healthy measures of social distancing, the rail services will only ferry 50% of their full passenger capacity. As for buses, it will be at 30% capacity.

Prasarana Group chief operating officer (Operations) Muhammad Nizam Alias announced last week that peak travel hours are now extended. Peak travel hours in the morning is from 7am to 11am, while evening duration is from 4pm to 7pm.

The frequency during peak hours are as follows:

  • Kelana Jaya LRT line: 3 minutes interval
  • Ampang/Sri Petaling LRT line: 6 minutes interval
  • Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT service: 4 minutes interval
  • Monorail service: 6 minutes interval
  • Bus operates as usual with the frequency of 15-20 minutes per buses

Monorail

For those commuting by public transport, do ensure you have a face mask on and sanitise your hands frequently. Since waiting time is expected to be an issue, passengers are advised to plan ahead to avoid large crowds.

Those with expired monthly passes can proceed to renew at selected LRT, MRT, BRT and Monorail counters. Rapid KL also shared that passengers will receive an extra 15 days when you renew your My100 or My50 pass.

For those that don’t know the difference, the My100 (priced at RM100) pass allows the user unlimited amount of rides on trains and buses for 30 days. The My50 (priced at RM50) pass allows the user unlimited amount of bus rides only for 30 days.
