They say a mother’s love knows no bounds – but Siti Hafiza Basharahil has been receiving tons of criticism from netizens for supporting her son, actor Aliff Aziz. The actor was recently caught for allegedly committing khalwat (close proximity) with co-star Ruhainies and has been the subject of netizens’ scrutiny over the past week.
While Aliff has been slammed for his actions, he has received some support from the public, including his family members. However, his mother’s open support for the actor has rubbed netizens the wrong way. Recently, Hafiza shared several posts on social media which seemed to be painting her son’s innocence in light of his scandal. While Hafiza’s actions are typical of a loving mother, many netizens called her out for turning a blind eye to her son’s actions.
Many netizens point out that Aliff has repeatedly cheated on his wife, Bella Astillah, and this incident with Ruhainies isn’t the first instance of his infidelity. Many also say that despite his multiple cheating allegations, he shows no remorse for his actions. Netizens also criticised Hafiza for seemingly denying her son’s mistakes and pushing the blame towards Bella. While some said it’s okay for a mother to support her child, some urged Hafiza not to back Aliff if he is proven guilty of khalwat.
On the other hand, some netizens have shared words of support for Hafiza and her family amidst Aliff’s scandal. Meanwhile, Bella Astillah has filed for divorce from Aliff, citing his repeated infidelity as the cause. The couple previously divorced in 2019 but remarried in 2020 after a brief separation. They have two children together, 7-year-old Ayden and 4-year-old Ara.
