Singapore’s street food hawker Chan Hon Meng made headlines in 2016 when his soy sauce chicken rice received a Michelin star.
The Liao Fan Hawker Chan stall becomes one of the first street food stands in the world to receive the award and also the cheapest Michelin star meal in the world.
Now, the Ipoh-born owner is set to open the famous chicken rice’s first Malaysian outlet in his very own hometown, Ipoh.
The shop had a soft launch on 26th February and all the food were sold out on that day!
The Liao Fan Hawker Chan Malaysia is non-halal as the place also sells pork dishes. The chicken rice reportedly costs RM6.80 per plate.
The shop is located at 26-3 Jalan Theatre, Taman Jubilee, Ipoh, Perak. It is open from 10.30am – 8.30pm.
