Malaysian entertainment icon Eira Syazira and Indonesian rising star Nabila Maharani have joined forces in a historic cross-border collaboration, officially releasing their emotionally-charged single “Bawang Merah Bawang Putih” today across all major streaming platforms and the official Trisna Music YouTube channel.

A Perfect Musical Partnership

This pop ballad represents more than just a duet – it’s a cultural bridge connecting Malaysian and Indonesian musical traditions. The collaboration showcases both artists’ vocal strengths, with Eira’s seasoned artistry complementing Nabila’s fresh, soulful delivery.

The song was penned by Tri Suaka and features musical arrangements by Ardy Goliath, recorded at Trisna Music Studio in Yogyakarta. The track seamlessly blends both artists’ distinctive styles while honoring the emotional depth of the classic folktale that inspired it.

Reimagining a Timeless Story

“Bawang Merah Bawang Putih” draws inspiration from the beloved folktale of the same name, transforming themes of resilience, kindness, and justice into a contemporary musical narrative. The song’s lyrics and melody work together to create an intimate storytelling experience that resonates across both cultures.

The accompanying music video, filmed in Yogyakarta, brings the folktale to life with cinematic visuals that enhance the song’s emotional impact.

About the Collaboration

Eira Syazira, the Malaysian entertainment icon known for hits like “Say,” “Kau Yang Ku Sayang,” and “Jebakan,” brings decades of experience to this partnership. Her established career spans acting, singing, and television, making her one of Malaysia’s most versatile performers.

Nabila Maharani, Indonesia’s rising star whose viral street performances with Tri Suaka of songs like “Bila Nanti” and “Ayang” have garnered millions of views, contributes her signature heartfelt vocal style that has captured audiences across the region.

“This collaboration doesn’t just bring two voices together – it’s a cultural bridge that unites Malaysia and Indonesia through music,” says project representative Azad Jazmin.

The project is supported by ES Arjuna Management (Malaysia) and Positif Art Entertainment (Indonesia), with full production sponsorship from Candyta and additional support from Batik Air, Le Méridien Putrajaya, Kaki Jersey, and Perabot Jati Awish.
