Have you ever been bar hopping around Malaysia? The bright lights, city skylines and of course, excellent cocktails and mixes are what to expect when going for a night out with the gals or pals. Well, what if we told you that you might’ve stumbled upon one of Asia’s best bars during your free time?
Ahead of the reveal of Asia’s 50 Best Bars list, 50 Best announced Asia’s 51-100 best bars for 2025, with 2 Malaysian bars included in the list. Coley Kuala Lumpur and Backdoor Bodega Penang were among the entries taking up spots No.92 and No.64, respectively.
Nestled in the quiet corners of Bangsar, off Jalan Abdullah, Coley Kuala Lumpur stands as one of Malaysia’s top bars with a frequent appearance on the Asia Best Bars list. Introducing its wide selection of cocktails that infuse an Asian twist to its mixes and its extensive food menu to complement each drink, Coley KL remains a favourite as it has remained on the list since its debut at No.48 in 2018.
Meanwhile, Backdoor Bodega, sitting at No.64, has proved to be a fan favourite since its debut in 2022. Describing itself as an “overpriced pin shop in the heart of Georgetown, Penang”, guests can score a complimentary cocktail when they purchase a lapel pin at their outlet. This speakeasy mixes its cocktails with fresh resources from the tropical island itself, including mixes with pandan and belacan.
