Decidedly timeless, the Mini DolceVita is an extension of the Longines DolceVita family – one of the Swiss watchmaker’s most celebrated collections. Inspired by a legendary rectangular piece created by the brand in 1927, the collection demonstrates Longines’ long history of crafting fine feminine wristwatches, an art the brand has practised since the very beginning of the last century. At once a sophisticated jewellery wristwatch and a graceful everyday companion, the Mini DolceVita is as suited to a cocktail evening as it is to an afternoon in the city. This year, the showstopper is the introduction of two striking new models that flawlessly showcase the art of setting at its finest.
Diamonds That Fall Like Snow
The two new models place excellence in gem setting centre stage. The rectangular dial is adorned with 163 Top Wesselton diamonds in a snow setting, a configuration that Longines uses on the collection for the first time. Unlike conventional settings, where diamonds follow a uniform pattern, the snow-setting technique places each stone individually in a free-flowing arrangement, so that diamonds of different sizes nestle organically against one another.
This composition is identical on every dial, ensuring perfect consistency across all pieces. Totalling 0.268 ct, they appear to cascade freely across the surface like freshly fallen snow. Mother-of-pearl inserts add a soft, iridescent glow between the stones, enhancing the dial’s luminous depth. Blue -painted Roman numerals and blued-steel hands provide refined contrast against this shimmering backdrop, while the small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock remains a signature element of the collection.
One version is paired with an elegant blue satin-style leather strap, lending it a sleek and understated character. The other features a flexible stainless-steel bracelet composed of 198 meticulously assembled links, designed to embrace the wrist with comfort. Both are fitted with an interchangeable system, allowing the wearer to adapt the watch to any occasion.
Each model is housed in a rectangular stainless-steel case measuring 21.50 mm x 29.00 mm, fitted with a sapphire crystal featuring a multi-layer anti-reflective coating on both sides. Powered by the Longines quartz movement L178, with hours, minutes and small seconds at 6 o’clock, the watches are water-resistant up to 3 bar (30 metres).
A Legacy Of Elegant Design
Longines began creating rectangular watches in the early 1910s – a distinctive form that flourished in the 1920s and 1930s. In 1997, this rich heritage inspired the launch of the DolceVita collection, which soon became one of the brand’s flagship lines and, in 1999, helped give rise to the now-famous slogan “Elegance is an attitude”.
The Mini DolceVita was introduced in 2023, giving the collection a fresh, contemporary expression with its discreet case and refined proportions. The line has continued to evolve with each passing year: in 2024 with 18 carat gold models and another version with double tour straps in a variety of colours. In 2025, colourful bi material versions were introduced. This year, the collection takes its most intricate step yet.
